The NuCARE Candidates bring an unmatched degree of knowledge, experience, dynamism and enthusiasm to the C.D.S. NuCARE’s Representative Assembly Candidates mirror the diversity of its members: an events planner , a sim manager, a virtual architect, an artist who all strongly believe in and promote links and creative cooperation between 2L projects and RL institutions, and have practical knowledge of how to build on, diversify and make an even greater success out of already existing in-world achievements. The NuCARE Candidates have outstanding track records, both in Real Life an in Second Life, and are deeply committed to the transform the C.D.S. into a Dynamic Community on the Edge of Tomorrow. They are eager to work with all C.D.S. citizens towards meeting these goals over the next six months. The profiles of NuCARE’s RA Candidates are showcased below.

RL Qualifications: BS, MS in Elecrtical Engineering

RL Occupation: Engineering Development Manager in the semiconductor industry – specializing in team forming and team leading the development of complex
products in competitive situations.

In Second Life: Bromo was one of the initial members of the SecondLife Religious Society of Friends (“Quaker”) Church and has helped the community grow from under 10 members to an active group approximately 87 strong with regular in world meetings, consensus forming and building teams of volunteers to tackle projects for
growth.

Also through a former interest in paper and pencil Role Playing in RL- found a SIM involving one of his favorite books, Dune, and when he noticed not much game playing – helped catalyze role playing and through events and planning, managed motivate many people to turn a backwater into a vibrant community.

 

Bromo also became a CDS Citizen in May of 2007, settling in Neufreistadt. He quickly became interested in helping CDS in any way he can. He noticed how empty
the SIM was most of the time – pledged to do what he could in order to build the in-world community.

Bromo was one of the initial investors in Al-Andalus, initial settlers of the SIM Wyre (Orcadia), and is one of the founding members of a new Dune SIM that is under construction.

RL Occupation: Rehabilitation Counselor specializing in the employment of people with disabilities

In Second Life: Friendly and outgoing, very involved in life in C.D.S. if you hang out in the C.D.S. sims you have probably met ThePrincess.

ThePrincess Parisi was elected to the current CDS Representative Assembly and has been a resident of C.D.S. for almost a year. She has owned land in all three C.D.S. sims and spends quite a bit of time in the C.D.S. sims and in secondlife. With her partner she now owns residential and commericial land in Colonia Nova and a new residential lot in Alpine Meadow. ThePrincess also owns both residential and commerical property on the mainland.

ThePrincess is an active member and promoter of the CDS community, and enjoys participating in the Social, Educational and Governmental aspects of CDS. She sponsored the Guided Tour and Direct Teleportation bills that were both passed unanimously by the RA.

ThePrincess is a people person and cherishes each of the wonderful friendships she has developed in C.D.S. and Second Life. She is also a content creator, shop owner, real estate investor and actress in Second Life. She can be seen starring in one of the top ten Second Life music videos of 2007 and on several segments of Second Life’s video magazine, ‘Life 4 U’.

Her vision is to see a wonderful dynamic community come to fruition, a place where we can all work together in peace and harmony & continue to facilitate cooperation between factions as we build a wonderful CDS for us all.

In Second Life: MT has been in Second Life since February 2007 and has taken an active interest in all aspects of the metaverse experience. A keen Second Life builder, shop and music venue promoter MT is also developing the use of the metaverse and Second Life as a real world work tool.

He’s very interested in how communities develop in Second Life and was naturally attracted to the experience offered by CDS. He has opened a shop within the walls of Colonia Nova, becoming a citizen in November 2007. He’s further invested in the community buying a plot in Alpine Meadow where he’s set up his CDS home with his new partner.

He’s fascinated by the concept of self government in Second Life and quickly joined the CARE party, participating in its recent review when it became NuCARE. He wishes to take an opportunity in the coming RA session to further develop and expand the role of democratic government in Second Life.

RL Qualifications: Laboratory Assistant, Occupational Therapy

RL Occupation: Tutor of web design and web authoring & internet modules for a subsidiary of the Irish Health Service Executive.

In Second Life: Mizou is a resident of Cosy Island, as well as an architect, builder & waterfall/river designer. She founded her own building company ‘Carpe Diem Design’ in 2006 and her shops are in Cosy Village where she sells her prefabs and some building components. She designed and build Cosy village together with 3 other architects, Sudane Erato of ‘Erato Environments’, Geoffrey Steinbeck, Vanettda Lassard under the patronage of Melina Loonie, the Cosy Island owner.

She is also one of the artists of ‘Textures are Us’ on English Rose and hand draws & designs & sells texture bundles which are made from the many photos that she takes in Ireland, her country of adoption.

Her skills are attention to detail in building and texturing.

She has many friends amongst the frenchspeaking SL population and did some journalistic work for the French SL news website, slobserver.com. Her fluency in 3 languages enable her to establish links with various SL communities as well as helping people to feel comfortable and integrated in their chosen community.
